Sheri Potter

I have been an employee of the Spearfish School District for 24 years. I have held a variety of positions, from kindergarten teacher to special education teacher, to middle school counselor, which is my current position. I have enjoyed teaching and working with children in each of these capacities, but the way I am able to connect individually with children and get to know their stories on a more personal level is my favorite so far. It isn't always easy to hear about what many children and families face on a daily basis, but it is worth it to know that I am able to offer a safe place, with a listening ear, and a passion for teaching kids to problem solve and make a plan for what comes next.  I am married to Jeff, who owns/operates a construction business, and we have two sons ages 11 and 8. When we aren't running to our children's activities, you can find us hiking or biking, camping, or spending time with family and friends.
