Dr. Kort Herman

I am from Ranchester, Wyoming. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Augustana College in Sioux Falls. I started what I thought would be my career in business, by working at Wells Fargo Bank in Rapid City, SD. I quickly realized that banking was not something I was passionate about and began looking into other careers. Dentistry had always been something I was interested in. I went to Black Hills State University and completed my prerequisites for dental school and enrolled in dental school at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL. After completing my dental education, I worked in Illinois for a few years before my family and I decided to move back to the Black Hills of South Dakota. I love helping my patients receive the care they need and desire. I take pride in being kind, gentle, and compassionate and work to treat patients as if they were my own family. I have been on dental mission trips to Jamaica, Nicaragua and Uganda. Being a part of the Meyer Dana Smile Foundation has given me an opportunity to take part in working with other board members to select applicants to receive orthodontic care. I have been married to my wife Rebecca for 24 amazing years. We have 5 children. When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, mountain biking, backpacking in the Bighorns, and hiking in the Black Hills.
